Roland Barbay was a Catholic High Schools, Scholastic Magazine and Adidas All-American, and a Prep All-American – selected by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association.  In addition, he was named All-City and All-District in his senior and junior years.  In his senior season, he was selected as the Catholic League MVP as a key member of the 8-3 (1981) team that returned the Tigers to playoffs after a 10-year drought.  He dominated in a district win over St. Augustine, finishing the game with 10 solo tackles, five assisted tackles, one forced fumble and a sack.  He completed his senior season with 80 total tackles. Barbay went on to play for the LSU Tigers where he earned All-American and All-SEC honors in 1985.  He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks and played from 1987-1990.
