Larry Gaudet was a three-year letterman in baseball and a three-year letterman in football.  He was selected to the pre-season All-State football team prior to his senior season in football and was a member of the football state runner-up team in that 1967 season.  He was a member of the very first contest between Holy Cross and St. Augustine, a game played before 26,000 fans at Tad Gormley.   Holy Cross Hall of Fame Coach, John Kalbacher, was able to get him an opportunity at Northwestern State as a walk-on. He started all but the first game of his college career. He completed his college career with 399 tackles in 39 games.   In 2005, he was inducted to the Northwestern State Athletic Hall of Fame.  In 2007, as part of Northwestern State’s celebration of 100 years of football, Gaudet was named to the top-100 football players to wear a Demon uniform.
