Andy Thiel, Track, Class of 1965

Qualified for the state track meet three times in helping the Tigers to multiple district championships during his tenure
As a senior he qualified for state in 4 categories – finishing second in both the 100 & 200-yard dashes. He also anchored the 400 & 800-yard relay teams.
Vice President of his class as a senior at Holy Cross
4-year letter winner (1966-69) as a sprinter on the Southeastern La. Track team
One of 25 men in school history to be named an All-American in track
Won the 100-yard & 200-yard conference titles as a sophomore & finished 6^th in the country in the 100-yard dash at the NAIA National Championships
Inducted in Southeastern Louisiana Athletics Hall of Fame in 1980
