Robert Gravolet was a three-year letterman in both football and track.  He played running back on the Tiger football team and ran the 440 and 880 relays on the track team.  During his junior and senior seasons, it was the combination of Gravolet, Leitz, and Haggerty leading the bruising rushing attack.  The Tigers finished 8-3 in his junior season, a season ending in a shootout loss to eventual state champion, John Ehret.  Gravolet rushed for 605 yards and nine TD’s as a junior, along with 667 yards and eight TD’s as a senior.  The Tigers finished 7-3 in his senior season.  He was an honor student who went on to play football at Louisiana Tech while majoring in engineering.  He served as a NASA engineer at the Michoud facility for 30 years.
