Hall of Fame
In the spring of 1969, a baseball team from Holy Cross won the State Championship while recording 15 wins and only losing 5 contests. This team defeated Chalmette High in the championship game by a score of 4-1. The Tigers qualified for the championship tournament by defeating St. Aloysius on a Monday night. The Tigers rallied down 5-0 in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game. The Tigers finally scored last with two runs in the bottom of the twelfth to win the district title and advance to the playoffs. The Tigers began their quest for the championship by beating Bogalusa 6-0 and a semi-final win over Woodlawn 6-0. As of 2019, no other Holy Cross Baseball team has won a State Championship.Â
