Claude Johnson Scores Four Touchdowns in 42-13 Win Over De La Salle

The Holy Cross Tigers earned a dominant 42-13 victory over De La Salle on Saturday night at Yulman Stadium.

De La Salle struck first in the opening quarter, but Joshua Brown blocked the extra point, keeping the Cavaliers' lead to 6-0.

In the second quarter, Brown made another key play with an interception, setting up the Tigers' offense. Kerynn Smith capitalized with a 67-yard rushing touchdown, and Noel Mora's extra point gave Holy Cross a 7-6 lead with 4:10 remaining in the half. Just before the break, Claude Johnson added a 2-yard rushing touchdown, and Mora's second PAT extended the lead to 14-6 at halftime.

Holy Cross came out strong in the second half, with Johnson breaking free for a 72-yard rushing touchdown on the opening drive. Mora's third PAT made it 21-6.

With 3:30 left in the third quarter, Joshua Brown intercepted a pass and returned it 84 yards for a touchdown—his second interception of the night. Just a minute later, Jonah Weir picked off another De La Salle pass with 2:37 left in the quarter. Johnson then punched in his third touchdown of the game, this time an 8-yard run, making it 35-6 by the end of the third.

De La Salle responded with a touchdown early in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 35-13, but Holy Cross sealed the win when Johnson scored his fourth touchdown, a 23-yard run, with Mora's PAT bringing the final score to 42-13.

The Tigers remain dominant, handing De La Salle a convincing defeat.
