The Holy Cross Football team fell 37-45, to the St. Augustine Purple Knights on Thursday, November 5, at Tad Gormley Stadium.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- St. Augustine opened up the scoring with 9:31 to go in the first quarter.
- Eli Lafrance helped the Tigers equalize with 5:55 remaining in the first quarter of play.
- Lafrance scored his second touchdown of the game with just four seconds remaining to give Holy Cross the 13-7 lead.
- The Purple Knights retook the lead at 14-13 with 11:12 to go in the first half.
- Lafrance collected his third touchdown with 7:43 to go in the first half; Armin Seraji made his second point after attempt to put Holy Cross up 20-14
- With 4:52 to go in the first half, St. Aug regained the lead with a touchdown to hold the 21-20 advantage over the Tigers.
- Seraji nailed a field goal with 1:02 remaining in the second quarter to give Holy Cross a two-point lead.
- St. Aug lead at the end of the half 24-23.
- Holy Cross scored with just under six minutes to go in the third to lead St. Augustine 30-24.
- Garrett Cantrelle caught his first interception of the season with 2:13 to go in the third.
- The Purple knights returned a punt for a touchdown.
- Lafrance scored his fourth touchdown of the night with 1:35 to go in regulation but it wasn't enough as St. Augustine defeated the Tigers 45-37.
The Holy Cross Cross Country team competed in the Region 3-5A Championship on Friday, November 6, at the City Park Cross Country Course. The Tigers totaled 88 points to claim third. Gage Baldassaro led Holy Cross with a third-place individual finish with a time of 16:06.00.
