HARVEY - The Holy Cross Football team improved to (2-2) with a 40-13 victory over Helen Cox on Saturday night at Hoss Memtsas Stadium.
Tiger Senior Eli Lafrance scored three touchdowns, leading Holy Cross to the victory.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- The Cougars opened up the scoring on the opening drive thanks to Cox' running back cutting back across the field.
- Lafrance and the Tigers answered three minutes later when Lafrance punched in the 10-yard carry to cut the Cougars lead to one.
- With 2:32 remaining in the first Lafrance rushed for his second touchdown and gave the Tigers the lead that they would hold for the remainder of the game.
- Lafrance scored his third and final rushing touchdown of the night early in the second quarter.
- Freshman Finn Martin returned a 54-yard punt to score his first touchdown of the season.
- Junior Christian Nunnery joined Martin with 1:32 to go in the first half by running the pitch into the end zone.
- Holy Cross went into the second half with a commanding 34-7 lead.
- Sophomore Cole Cantella scored Holy Cross' final touchdown of the night at the end of the third quarter.
