NEW ORLEANS - The Holy Cross Football team moved to (3-2) with a 28-21 victory over Archbishop Rummel on Friday night at Yulman Stadium.The Tigers earned their first District 9-5A win of the season and celebrated Homecoming. Senior Eli Lafrance led the Tigers finishing with a passing touchdown and 124-yards on the ground.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Rummel struck first with 5:12 to go in the first quarter to take the 7-0 lead.
- The Tigers equalized in the second quarter with a 79-yard touchdown pass to Kameron King.
- Holy Cross and Rummel would end the first half tied at seven apiece.
- HC took the lead for the first time with 3:53 to go in the third quarter, thanks to a 37-yard touchdown pass from Cole Canatella to Koby Young.
- Lafrance extended the Tigers' lead to 14 with a 2-yard run to move the score to 21-7.
- The Raiders cut Holy Cross' lead down to seven with a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
- With 6:25 to go in regulation, Lafrance scored his second touchdown of the night on a 4-yard run to give HC the 28-14 advantage.
- Rummel scored again in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as Holy Cross closed the game with a 28-21 district win over Archbishop Rummel.
