Roland is a 1982 graduate of Holy Cross. Roland was a 4-year member and 3-year starter as a defensive tackle with the Tigers where he earned All District ’80, ’81, District MVP ’81, All City ’81, Catholic High School Scholastic Magazine All American, Adidas All American, Football News Nifty Fifty.  Roland went on to LSU from 1982-1986 where he was a 4-year letterman in football. He was a 1984 student athlete sophomore All American nose tackle, 1985 & 1986 All SEC & All-American Defensive End. Roland is the only two-time recipient of the Butch Duhé Memorial Award.  He was a 7th round draft pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 1987 and was a nose tackle until 1990.
