NEW ORLEANS - In a thrilling match, the Holy Cross Varsity Tigers secured a late 4-3 victory over St. Augustine on Thursday. The game was tied at three until Christopher Sercovich's crucial single in the bottom of the sixth inning. St. Augustine initially led 2-0 in the second inning but was countered by Jeff Louis' game-tying double in the fourth. Despite St. Augustine briefly reclaiming the lead in the fifth, an error allowed Holy Cross to tie it again. Trace Thomas pitched a stellar two and two-thirds innings for the Tigers, securing the win. Dominic Pellegrin led the offensive charge with a 2-for-4 performance and six walks for Holy Cross.
