NEW ORLEANS - Holy Cross School soccer head coach
Matt Millet has been named Nola.com Large Schools Coach of the Year.
Matt Millet has been honored as the Large Schools coach of the year by Nola.com after leading the top-seeded Tigers to victory in the Division II state championship, where they triumphed over District 7-II rivals, Ben Franklin, with a score of 2-1. This marks Millet's first time receiving the award, despite the Tigers' impressive streak of four consecutive state championships from 2018 to 2021.
In addition to Millet's recognition, four Tigers players have been named to the All-Metro team. Andrew Touro, Seth Rutman, Erik Santamaria, and Caleb O'Neil were all selected for their outstanding performances. Notably, Santamaria was awarded the title of outstanding player of the match during the championship game held in February.
